Wednesday return to action after a two-week break, looking to bounce back from a narrow defeat to Ilkley after a thrilling second-half comeback.
Reflecting on the sluggish start last time out, coach Andy Gilligan said:
“We need to start the Farsley game in the same mindset and with the same intensity as we played in the second half.”
“For whatever reason, we just didn’t get out of the starting gate last time out, but we can’t do that this Sunday, or we’ll be playing catch-up again.”
Reviewing the Ilkley performance, Gilligan added:
“Frustrating is probably the first thing that comes to mind. It's not like we weren't prepared or that we took Ilkley too lightly, it was just a case of looking sluggish and sloppy, and that's not something I’ve levelled at this group many times, especially this season.”
Having already beaten Farsley away and been knocked out by them at home in the cup this season, Gilligan assessed:
“I think in both matches, one team has had a half to forget, and it’s cost them the chance of winning the game. We just need to make sure it’s not our turn this time.”
Farsley sit just above the Owlesses in 4th, setting a high-stakes fixture. The NERWFL is highly contested this season, with 1st to 6th separated by just six points.
Kick off is set for 2:30pm at the Jubes, hope to see you there.
