The Owls turn their attention back to the league this weekend as they take on Cleethorpes Town Ladies away from home at Clee Fields.

Wednesday head into this fixture on the back of an emphatic win at home last weekend in the County Cup against Parkgate Ladies, winning 5–0 to progress to the third round.

The game saw Amy Broomhead grab a first-half hat-trick, continuing her excellent goalscoring start to the season. Nicole Shaw also once again got her name on the scoresheet, while Player of the Match Eve Bennett scored her first goal of the season.

The Owls currently sit seventh in the league after a mixed start to the season, having won two, lost two and drawn one.

Wednesday still have a couple of long-term injuries. Milly Colford remains sidelined with a Weber B fracture, while Rachel Norsworthy is still recovering from a broken collarbone and will be unavailable for the upcoming fixture. Jodie Gregory also remains sidelined after sustaining a broken collarbone.

Jess Birtles, Renee Simmonite-Scott and Laurie Millington will once again take charge following the victory over Parkgate, as they look to build on that performance and maintain Wednesday’s winning momentum.

Sunday's hosts, Cleethorpes Town Ladies, currently sit bottom of the table in 12th place, on zero points after losing their first five league games of the season.

Their most recent fixture saw them lose 4–1 at home to Aloft Ladies.
Coming off the back of a statement win, the Owls will look to carry this form into the league as they aim to climb the table. However, Cleethorpes Town Ladies will provide a tough test.
