We are delighted to announce that Maisie Brennan and Monika Charles have been recognised as the First Team and Reserves Player of the Month respectively.
Maisie Brennan, Sheffield Wednesday Ladies' marauding midfielder has found herself in top form recently, helping the Owlesses get back to form after a long winter break.
The central-midfielder has managed to cement her spot in the side, becoming an integral cog in Andy Gilligan and Gary Wilson's side, starting on 12 occasions in the 2024/25 NERWFL campaign, whilst bagging a brilliant goal last time out with a cushioned header against Sheffield United Community Foundation.
Following her recognition as Player of the Month for the First Team, coach Andy Gilligan praised the midfielder, as he said: "In a tough month of fixtures, we've seen quite a few step up and show the dedication and consistency we need and Maisie Brennan certainly encapsulated that.
"She did very well to cap it all off at the start of the new month with her first goal last Sunday."
As for Wednesday Ladies Reserves, Monika Charles has been recognised as the top performer across January, having notched several top goals in recent weeks.
The attacker has displayed a great partnership on the frontline with Michaela Barrett, with the pair acting as their side's biggest goal threat.
Despite the Reserves not quite having a handful of games in the January period, with Charles only playing in two, she was nonetheless superb in both.
Speaking to Reserves head coach Danny Shackleton, he said: "Monika was fantastic in those games [in January].
"We’ve had 3 games this month, with Monika involved in two due to picking up an injury.
"Monika has been fantastic in both of those games too and added to the two games in December, felt it was deserved for a Player Of The Month award for January."
