Sheffield Wednesday Ladies are back in action this weekend with a new familiar face back in the dugout, as Kieron Lee takes charge of the side once again.
Lee, who previously managed the team and had been working as an assistant, says he is delighted to be back in charge:
"It’s great to be back in charge of a great group of players. We are a better side than we showed against Handsworth, and we aim to show that on Sunday.”
Attention now turns to Sunday’s opponents, Rossington, with Lee expecting a challenging encounter against a side who have adapted well following promotion last season:
“We expect a tough game against a very good Rossington side. They have settled well into this division and we will have to be at our very best.”
Last weekend’s defeat to Handsworth is something Lee believes the team must quickly learn from as they prepare to bounce back.
“The Handsworth game was something we have to learn from quickly. They are a great football team, and our players have to go into every game focused on the game plan and work together to stay in games.”
Wednesday go into this fixture in 5th place, being just 3 points behind 3rd place. Sunday's opponents sit in 7th, just 2 points behind the Owlesses after a win over York last weekend. They will also have top goal scorer Nicole Shaw back in action this weekend, which is a big boost for the team.
Kick off is set for 3pm at the Jubes, hope to see you there!
