JUNIOR ROUNDUP

JUNIOR ROUNDUP

Julie Higgins

With the first team having a successful weekend, winning their first home game of the season, how did the rest of the club get on last weekend?

The Under-13s side won emphatically over the weekend, winning 5-3 in a game of two halves.
Finding themselves one goal down after just one minute, there were certainly some lessons to be learned after the opening 15 minutes.
But following a few honest words from the coaches at half-time, the girls showed their character, raising their standards and showing more of the intensity and quality that they are capable of, as well as taking on board some words from the captain, which sprung the girls into life.

The Under-9s played Wisewood at the weekend with the whole team putting in a fantastic performance.

U15s White got their season off to a flyer with a thumping 5-0 win away at Nether Green. The girls continued from last season’s excellent form, coming out of the traps at speed and scoring twice in the opening five minutes.
In difficult and windy conditions, their football won out and chances continued to flow throughout as we dominated the 70 minutes. The 5-0 scoreline perhaps flattered our opponents somewhat by the end.
Elena (3) and Beau (2) got the goals, with Emily and Florence sharing the Player of the Match honours.
There is a long way to go, but it was a solid start to life in Division One.

The Under-12 Blues also won 1-0 against a tough Bramley team. They had some great opportunities to extend their lead but were unlucky not to do so. It was a great battle from both teams.

The U10s played Huddersfield and the girls were fabulous, we are very proud of them.

The Under-15 Blues went away to Doncaster this weekend but weren’t able to get the result they wanted, losing 2-1.
The game against Doncaster Elite was a frustrating morning for the girls, with the final result going against us despite creating enough opportunities to take at least a point from the game.

The Under-14s also had a great home win against Nether Green over the weekend, winning 9-1. It was a great performance, with some brilliant goals and the whole team chipping in.

The Under-12 Whites had a difficult game on Wednesday night, doing well in the first half and being unlucky to go into the break 2-1 down.
However, they really lost their way in the second half, just not being sharp enough and struggling to keep up with the play, eventually going down 5-1 away at Langold.

The new Under-16 Whites won their first game 3-0 at home to Dronfield Blacks. The side weren’t quite at their best, not fully showing what they are capable of, but it’s always great to get a win on the board.

The Under-18s also got a good point away at Millmoor Juniors in a 1-1 draw over the weekend.
