Wednesday’s passing and pressing were particularly impressive, with the team looking dangerous whenever they ventured forward.

Defensively, the Owlesses remained organised and disciplined, while several outstanding saves from the goalkeeper in the closing stages helped preserve their advantage.

An energetic display saw every player contribute to a thoroughly deserved result.

Under-11s | Sheffield United

The Under-11s faced a difficult challenge against Sheffield United, heading into the fixture with a reduced squad.

Despite being short on numbers and facing an opposition side that enjoyed the majority of possession, Wednesday demonstrated tremendous resilience and determination.

The Owlesses worked tirelessly for one another, showing excellent commitment and teamwork throughout a demanding encounter.

A courageous performance from the squad, who will look to build on their efforts when they return to action next weekend.

Under-12 Whites | Sheffield Rangers (H)

Result: Wednesday 5–2 Sheffield Rangers

The Under-12 Whites celebrated their first home fixture of the season with an entertaining 5–2 victory over Sheffield Rangers.

Wednesday faced early pressure from the visitors, with some resolute defending and important goalkeeping interventions keeping Rangers at bay.

As the first half progressed, the Owlesses began to grow into the contest, creating several promising opportunities and striking the woodwork before eventually breaking the deadlock in the 31st minute.

Wednesday doubled their advantage eight minutes later, taking a deserved 2–0 lead into the interval.

Rangers responded strongly after the restart, scoring twice to bring the contest level and set up a competitive second half.

However, Wednesday refused to let the setback disrupt their momentum. The Owlesses continued to attack with confidence and determination, scoring twice in the closing ten minutes before adding a fifth in the final stages.

An excellent display of character and resilience secured a memorable first home victory of the campaign.

Under-12 Blues | Retford U13s

Result: Wednesday 2–1 Retford U13s

The Under-12 Blues enjoyed an impressive 2–1 friendly victory against Retford’s unbeaten Under-13 side, who compete in the Doncaster League’s top division.

Facing strong opposition as part of their preparations for their upcoming league fixture against Bramley, Wednesday produced an excellent performance.

One of the standout moments came through a superb three-pass attacking move, finished emphatically into the top corner.

The quality of the goal drew praise from both the match official and the opposition manager, highlighting the impressive football played by the Owlesses.

A valuable result and confidence-building performance ahead of their return to league action.

Under-13s | Doncaster Belles (A)

Result: Doncaster Belles 0–3 Wednesday

The Under-13s secured an impressive 3–0 away victory against Doncaster Belles following an excellent all-round team performance.

Playing against strong winds during the opening half made creating clear-cut opportunities difficult, but Wednesday remained patient and continued to apply pressure.

Their persistence paid off when a dangerous long throw caused confusion in the opposition penalty area, with sustained pressure forcing a defender to turn the ball into their own net.

The second half saw Wednesday take greater control, playing some excellent attacking football and creating numerous opportunities.

Two further goals secured the victory, while an effort against the crossbar and several outstanding saves from the opposition goalkeeper prevented the Owlesses from extending their advantage.

Wednesday were equally impressive defensively, displaying composure in possession and building confidently from the back.

Three goals, a clean sheet and three points rounded off an excellent afternoon on the road.

Under-14s | Pinfold (A)

Result: Pinfold 2–0 Wednesday

The Under-14s suffered a narrow 2–0 defeat away at Pinfold in a closely contested encounter featuring limited opportunities for either side.

Wednesday struggled to establish their rhythm during the opening half but showed considerable improvement after the interval.

The Owlesses continued to compete and were presented with an opportunity to reduce the deficit from the penalty spot with ten minutes remaining.

Result: Wednesday 2–0 Bentley

The Under-15 Whites maintained their perfect start to the season with a deserved 2–0 home victory against a ten-player Bentley side.

The Owlesses continued to control proceedings after the restart, showing patience in possession and exploiting space through quick, incisive attacking play.

Their persistence was eventually rewarded with two clinical second-half finishes, securing another important three points.

The result preserves Wednesday’s 100% winning record and continues an excellent opening to the campaign.

Under-15 Blues | Notts County (H)

The result brings a challenging cup group stage to an end, with Wednesday now looking to regroup and turn their attention towards their upcoming fixtures.

Match abandoned with Wednesday leading 2–1

Wednesday’s strong opening-half performance put them in a commanding position, but the visitors reduced the deficit after the restart.

Unfortunately, the fixture was subsequently abandoned following a collision involving Wednesday’s goalkeeper and an opposition player.

The goalkeeper received medical attention and was taken to hospital for assessment, where mild concussion was confirmed.

Thankfully, the player is recovering, and everyone at Sheffield Wednesday Ladies wishes her a full and speedy recovery.

A tactical adjustment to strengthen the midfield proved effective, allowing Wednesday to establish control and dictate large periods of the opening half.

The Owlesses made their dominance count, scoring twice before the interval to take a 2–0 advantage into the break.

YP Women applied greater pressure during the second half, but Wednesday remained disciplined and organised defensively.

The team demonstrated excellent decision-making, composure in possession and collective determination to limit the hosts’ attacking opportunities.

A thoroughly positive performance and another important step forward for the Under-18s.

From the younger Owlesses continuing their development to the older squads demonstrating their quality in competitive fixtures, the weekend once again highlighted the commitment, teamwork and determination running throughout the club.
