Sheffield Wednesday Ladies First Team face an away trip this Sunday against Oughtibridge War Memorial in the NERWFL.

Andy Gilligan and Gary Wilson's side are gearing up for their seventh game of the 2024/25 NERWFL campaign with the side looking to notch a third consecutive away victory this Sunday.

The game will take place at Oughtibridge War Memorial Sports Club for a 2pm kick-off.

Ahead of the clash with Oughtibridge, we spoke to Wilson, who has reflected on last weekend's victory, whilst also looking ahead to this Sunday.

"Firstly, we spoke about each player winning their individual battles, which on Sunday every player managed.

"We wanted it more, and the formation we now play, which allows players to get more time on the ball to showcase their talent, which as everyone has seen, we have it in bundles."

Looking ahead to this weekend's game against Oughtibridge, Wilson said: "With any game in the league, we hit it with the same mentality. We will use the momentum from last week's game to attack more. We need to move the ball quick and not give the opposition time to breathe on the ball.

"We have a point to prove that, much is certain. Last time out they fell short [against Oughtibridge], but this time we're playing a completely different style that me and Andy have created. After last week's win, the girls know how important the win this Sunday will prove later on in the season."

The game will take place this Sunday at Oughtibridge War Memorial Sports Club for a 2pm kick-off. Entry is FREE for the game; we hope to see as many of you there as possible showing your support!
